Our comprehensive integrated design approach requires breaking down a complex physical site, neighborhood or community into more manageable pieces in order to:

  • determine what its various physical features are
  • evaluate these features through the different social, economic, environmental and political lenses
  • understand how the different features may or may not connect to and support one another
  • identify latent or obvious opportunities for greater social, economic, and environmental connections

This design process helps project partners create a realistic vision of what their project could be and build on community assets to realize that vision, while simultaneously enabling them to make informed design decisions that are truly place based and sustainable.
